Russia's Vice Premier Sergei Ivanov said that Ukraine's prospective membership in NATO may lead to introduction of the visa regime for the citizens of both countries.
"I'm sure, or almost sure that in case Ukraine possibly joins the NATO, visa regime will be introduced. NATO will make Ukraine introduce the visa regime. It will involve millions and even tens of millions of people on the territories of both Russia and Ukraine, who will have a hard time staying in touch with one another," Ivanov told journalists in Sevastopol, Crimea on Saturday.
Saturday he took part in provocative celebrations dedicated to the so-called "225th Anniversary of Sevastopol".
