Russian politician and opposition, professor Boris Berezovsky, a fugitive from repression of Moscow in London, confirmed that in the poisoning of Viktor Yushchenko "the footsteps lead to the Kremlin", but the case is stalled.

"It is quite obvious - and there are lots of facts that the footsteps of the crime, lead to the Kremlin to the comrade Putin" - Berezovsky said in an interview with "Segodnya".

"Yushchenko is not in a position to take the story to the end. He said that it is almost he who poisoned himself, or even Berezovsky ... ", - said the oligarch.

"I myself gave evidence to Ukrainian prosecutors and out of their questions I understood that they were well advanced in the investigation", - said the professor.

"I think that this case is artificially slowed down from and by the top. Maybe Yushchenko has some obligations towards the people who keep him on a short leash? "- Suspects political refugee.

According to Berezovsky, if Yushchenko "can not defend himself in this story (poisoning), well then how can he protect others."

The Ukrainian president does not have enough will to solve such cases - and it also defines the term cases of corruption of children, in which Ukrainian deputies are suspected to be involved.

"Since Ukraine is not yet a constitutional state, then all depends on political will, including the political will of President Yushchenko. Unfortunately, what he shows during his presidency, demonstrates that he has not enough of such will"- said Professor Berezovsky.

"There's also history with Gongadze, even when former General Pukach named names of Kuchma and Lytvyn, still the investigation was not conducted until the end", - said the former Russian oligarch, who came to power in Putin's Russia.

By holding a meeting with a key member of the Moldovan parliament in Chisinau, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has in fact "chosen" the next president of Moldova, according to the Russian press.

Background:

Moldova is a former Soviet republic, and was part of Romania before being annexed by the Soviet Union in World War II. It is landlocked between Romania and Ukraine. Moldovans speak Romanian, although the country's constitution calls it the 'Moldovan language'. Russian is also widely spoken.
