Russia use imperialism and agrresive policy as the way to restore influence zone in Central and Eastern Europe.  Aggresion on Georgia, truculent conduct towards Ukraine and Baltic states are clear  examples of this course. Neo-Sovietization of Russian policy is evident in attempts to divide Europe polically and economically by subsea pipelines, such like Nord Stream and South Stream (find out more).
