datoooo 233x300 British PM: Its Time for Russia to Withdraw Troops from GeorgiaBritish Prime Minister David Cameron said on November 22, that he and President Obama had both raised Georgia during NATO-Russia Council meeting in Lisbon.

In his statement to the House of Commons about the NATO Summit in Lisbon, PM Cameron mentioned Georgia when speaking about Russia and about those agreements, which were reached between NATO and Russia during the summit.

“There will remain challenges in working with Russia,” he said. “President Obama and I both raised Georgia. Two years after that conflict started, it is time for Russia to abide by the ceasefire agreement and withdraw its troops from Georgian territory.”

“But I judge it right we do not let this and other bilateral concerns prevent us from working together where it is in our interests to do so,” the British PM added.

During the same hearings, opposition Labour Party leader Ed Miliband agreed with PM on the matter by saying: “The Prime Minister is clearly right, that we should seek to improve our relationship with Russia, but continue to raise the concerns that he mentioned, including on Georgia.”
