As reported by Svetlana Danelyan, leader of the initiative group of Vardane villagers, the participants of the protest action, which was dispersed by OMON (special militia) fighters on September 3, are still persecuted by militia and judicial instances. Ms Danelyan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that for several days after the action militiamen kept visiting villagers' houses and compiled protocols on those who had taken part, according to their data, in the scuffle with the militia. As of today, 34 residents of the villages Vardane, Nizhnee Buu and Verkhnee Buu were convicted under Article 19.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (disobedience to militiaman's orders). All of them were fined by 500-2000 roubles. Two more cases will be considered on September 25 by the magistrate court of Dagomys settlement, Lazarevskoe District of Sochi. According to Svetlana Danelyan, "villagers demanded to observe the legislation, since documents define the location of the dump three kilometres away from the place of geological exploration works."

Within the last several weeks the FSB (Federal Security Service, former KGB) of Russia has made several attempts to steal the main domain of Kavkaz-Center kavkazcenter.com. A number of powerful hacker attacks on the KC server in Sweden, as well as unsuccessful attempts to fraudulently gain access to the KC domain, using fake requests to the operating domain company, have been undertaken with that that purpose.
