Rally in memory of those who fell victims to the terrorist attack in the theatre center on Dubrovka. Moscow, Chistoprudny boulevard, October 26, 2009. Photo by the "Caucasian Knot"

In Moscow, in Chistye Prudy, near the monument to Griboedov, a meeting has started in memory of the victims of the terror act in the Dubrovka Theatrical Centre. The United Civil Front is the organizer of the action.

About 30 persons have come there, half of them are journalists. The participants explain their little number by the fact that today in the morning a requiem was held in Dubrovka, where much more people had gathered.

The area in front of the monument to Griboedov is cordoned with iron fence. The participants hold posters with inscriptions: "Who will respond for the victims, which could have been avoided?", "We demand compensations to Nord-Ost victims!", "No more lies, no more blood, no more Putin!"

Let us note here that the last poster attracted attention of militiamen, who are present in the same number as the protesters (additional forces are in the buses nearby). The guards of order asked to remove the poster. However, after a conversation with the participants of the event, who referred in their actions to the Constitution, they were allowed unwrapping the poster again.

The words "We remember!" are formed on the steps by means of candles. However, according to one of the participants of the rally Mikhail Kriger, "if you go some 100 meters away, very few people will recollect about what happened on this day 7 years."

Let us remind you that last year over one thousand persons came to the nourning meeting held at the Dubrovka Theatrical Centre.

David King, who as the Government's Chief Scientist played a key role in the investigation into Litvinenko's murder, has accused the Russian president of masterminding the murder of nearly 300 of his own people in the Moscow apartment bombings in 1999, which Putin blamed on Chechen rebels.

"I can tell you that Putin was responsible for the bombings," Sir David claimed to Mandrake at the Morgan Stanley Great Britons Awards. "I've seen the evidence. There is no way that Putin would have won the election if it wasn't for the bombings. Before them he was getting 10 per cent approval ratings. After, they shot up to 80 per cent."
