The Belarusian Company "Triple" has given up its plans of building a biathlon complex in Sochi for Olympiad-2014. As reported by the "Gazprom" and "Sochi-2014" Organizing Committee, the reason of demarche was Russia's refusal to grant export oil discounts to Belarus. "Earlier, discounts covered the whole scope of shipments; however, now Russia is ready to discount only a small amount of exported oil, while the "Triple" is close to Belarusian government and gave up its project in Sochi on political reasons," one of the companies busy with Olympic construction have stated. The newspaper "Vedomosti" reports that the refusal of the Belarusian counterpart means that now the "Gazprom" will have to combine its built race ski tack with the biathlon one. Meanwhile, Yuri Chizh, owner of the "Triple" group of companies, asserts that the decision to reject construction of the biathlon complex in Sochi was made in mid-2009 and has nothing to do with Russian oil shipment terms to Belarus, as reported by the Belarusian newspaper "Belorusskaya Delovaya Gazeta". The "Gazprom" will erect the ski-biathlon complex in Sochi without participation of the Belarus company named "Triple". The respective amendments have been made in the programme of constructing Olympic objects and development of the city of Sochi as a mountain climate resort. The press service of the government of the Russian Federation reports that Russian Premier Vladimir Putin signed the decision on amending the programme on January 19. The website of the government says that the item "biathlon-complex", where the "Triple" was marked as responsible executive, was excluded from the programme of pre-Olympic construction, the "Echo Moskvy" Radio reports. It is also specified that instead of a ski complex to be built by "Gazprom", the gas holding will erect a combined cross-country ski and biathlon complex for 16 thousand spectators. Besides, the OJSC "Gazprom" will be engaged in building the mountain Olympic Village, an access highway and improvement of the territory of the Psekhako Ridge, the "RBC" (RosBusinessConsulting) writes.

David King, who as the Government's Chief Scientist played a key role
in the investigation into Litvinenko's murder, has accused the Russian
president of masterminding the murder of nearly 300 of his own people
in the Moscow apartment bombings in 1999, which Putin blamed on Chechen
rebels.
